May 5, 2011, Aquatics Biologists Daragh Deegan, spoke to the Introduction to Bass Fishing class at Urey Middle School in Walkerton, Indiana.
Introduction to Bass Fishing
Deegan brought the boat he uses to shock fish and proceeded to show the students how he collects data. He had students assist him in measuring, weighing, and collect scales from largemouth and smallmouth bass.
When Deegan visits the class, the most exciting point is always when he gets out live fish for the students to hold. Deegan captured the fish the day before from the St. Joe River. Most students had not held a bass before.
