Introduction to Bass Fishing Class @ UMS
May 4, 2010, touring professional angler, Chip Harrison, of Bremen, Indiana came to visit the class.
Notice the hats students are wearing. Harrison gave each student either a Yamaha, Humminbird, or Minn Kota hat.

Harrison has won 4 FLW events; most notably the FLW series on Lake Champlain (2008) and the FLW American Fishing Series on the Detroit River (2009). He brought his trophies; a sight to provide inspiration for all fishermen.
Harrison not only gave away a free hat, but also a Poor Boy's tackle pack. It was children in a candy store, but instead of candy it was bait and Harrison autographs!
Harrison also participated in the class' bass tournament on Koontz Lake. Before take off, another volunteer made the comment that it was interesting to see how the kids flocked to and were comfortable initiating conversation with him. As you can see, Harrison created that relationship with informal dialogue that was on the students' level. He made a lot of new fans that day!
